ROSCOE ROSCOE BRAIN RETRIEVE

Arriving via reliable South London tastemakers Slow Dance, 'Brain Retrieve' is the surprisingly sludgy new belter by the label's most recent signings Roscoe Roscoe. Bursting into the public eye with a rare televised performance at Glastonbury last year, the fresh-faced East Londoners formed an alliance at infamous Brit School (who's recent successful alumni include black midi, Olivia Dean and Rosie Alena to name a few). Making a bold statement with 5 minutes of face-melting psychedelia, 'Brain Retrieve' conjures memories of Wand's Golem era, pairing fuzzy riffs with surreal and oddly melodic vocals. Stomping through exotic instrumental interludes, pummelling snare hits keep up momentum, punctuated by the occasion epic fill as their frankly overwhelming wall of sound sucks you in.
